Ship/Scale skips its own content work for your site: the pages are Outrank's. It lists what's holding each page back as a brief you can take back to Outrank, and holds links until a page is ready for them.
- 1Sign in with Google and choose the Search Console property for your site.
- 2When asked how your site's content gets written, choose “I use my own content tool”.
- 3In Site settings, under Who improves your pages, paste an Outrank API key. In Outrank, it's under your avatar menu, API Keys (organization admins).
- 4Optional: add Ship/Scale's webhook as a Webhook integration in Outrank, for same-minute publish dates.

Does this replace Outrank?
No. Keep Outrank for your articles. Ship/Scale adds what happens after publishing: finding the articles worth backing with links, buying those links within your budget, and measuring the results.
What does Ship/Scale read from Outrank?
Your published articles: their titles, slugs, links and publish and update dates. Nothing else, and it never writes to Outrank.
Do I need the API key?
No, but it helps. Without it, Ship/Scale still re-reads the pages that matter every day and notices changes, dated to the day. With the key (or the webhook), it knows about new articles as soon as they're published, with exact dates.
What do the links cost?
Marketplace prices, from 605,948 media placements, paid from your own PlacementAPI credits with no markup. Tell Ship/Scale what a customer is worth and it suggests a monthly budget that funds only the articles whose links should pay back within your limit.
